When Jadakiss hit the
rap scene with his deafening group, the LOX, all hell broke loose.
Why, you may ask, well, primarily because there had never been a
hip-hip group in history who revolutionized the sound of hip-hop
music as fast as they did. ?They? Are the only group who knew how to
precisely give you lyrical food for your mind while simultaneously
making thongs shake and drop (check out the meteoric rise of their
platinum Money, Power & Respect for evidence). Plus, they redrew the
rap map and became an influential force in the musical genre. Now,
as one of the toughest and tightest emcees to ever grip the mic,
Jadakiss, the LOXs? front man, is on the move to jump-start his solo
career with his unprecedented album ?Kiss Tha Game Goodbye? which,
due to its brilliance, is destined to go down in history books.

AT millennium's end, the
hottest rapper in pop music is Jay-Z. Since the release of his
quadruple-platinum Vol. II … Hard Knock Life, Jay-Z has had an
incredible string of urban radio hits: "Can I Get a …," "Hard Knock
Life," "Jigga What, Jigga Who," "Money, Cash" … the list goes on and
on. And unlike many of today's most popular rap artists, he built an
extensive catalog of hits before making his mark on the charts and
enjoys underground respectability as well as mainstream acceptance.

No other rapper has been
able to carve such a distinct niche in hip hop's diverse and
expansive history as Snoop Dogg. His flow is like a Southern breeze
on a lazy Sunday afternoon - soothing in its feel, sturdy in its
power. We've all witnessed the curly-headed, lyrical phenomenon from
21st Street in Long Beach evolve and fortify into a grown man, now
just as concerned with his business as he is with his lyrics - his
game as healthy and expanding as his straightened head of hair.

Truth is, ever since he
debuted on the Friday soundtrack in 1995, Mack 10 has been
the focus of the hip-hop nation. Each one of his albums -- Mack
10 (1995), Based On A True Story (1997), The Recipe
(1998), The Paper Route (2000), Bang Or Ball (2001) --
has gone gold and has served as a snapshot of West Coast rap. Mack
10's ability to infuse his gritty lyrics with wit, insight and
realism makes him one of the best hard-core rappers the genre has
ever seen.

Marshall Bruce Mathers
III was born in Kansas city, Missouri on October 17 1973 to his
mother Debbie Briggs-Mathers and his father Marshall Bruce Mathers
II. Debbie was only 15 when Marshall was born. Not long after
Marshall was born, his father packed his bags and left the family,
never to be seen again. This wasn’t the end of a tough run for
Marshall and his family; it was only just the beginning. Marshall
got moved around to different houses and because of this he attended
many schools. His mom finally settled down in a house in Detroit.
Marshall was only 12 years old. The maximum time he spent at the one
school was 3 months. He got bullied at every school he attended and
later got back at them by dissing them publicly in his songs.

my best friend. He was three years younger than me." Dre tells of
being on the road when he received a phone call with the bad news.
"You never forget that."
He started off as a D.J for parties as a teenager, and soon earned
himself a spot in the "Eve After Dark" club, where he would play

innovative style on "Rapper's Ball" (featuring Too Short & jodeci's

Scarface
quickly became the South's most admired rapper and remained so
throughout the '90s after breaking away from
the Geto Boys
to launch his solo career in 1991. Even if he never scored any
national hits or stormed up the Billboard charts with any of his
numerous albums throughout the '90s, no one could question his clout
throughout the South. He essentially defined what it meant to be a
Southern thug rapper years before anyone even coined the term Dirty
South. This became glaringly evident in the late '90s when a massive
wave of young MCs arose from Houston, New Orleans, and Memphis
emulating his style of hard-boiled, ghetto-bred, straight-up
hardcore rapping. Besides serving as the father of Southern thug
rap, it seemed as if every hardcore rapper wanted to align himself
with
Scarface
during the '90s -- everyone from
Ice Cube and
Dr. Dre to
2Pac and
Master P
collaborated with the former
Geto Boy --
all in an attempt to foster credibility among the loyal Southern rap
audience.

No matter what is being
supplied, a hustler is only as good as his word. With Atlanta
serving up some of the hottest product in the rap game, native son
Young Jeezy stands as one of the most exciting merchants of cool to
emerge in years. Thanks to underground testimonials like “Air
Forces” and “Chuuch,” Jeezy’s street swagger and authentic style has
quickly made believers out of some the biggest players in the game,
from Fabolous to P. Diddy. In his native Atlanta, and throughout the
south, Young Jeezy has created nothing short of a movement. Now the
world will get to find out what insiders have been buzzing about
when his Def Jam debut, Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 drops this
summer
Like many hustlers on the mic, rapping wasn’t in Jeezy’s original
game plan. As CEO of Corporate Thug Entertainment, Jeezy was content
to stack his paper from the background.

REALITY is a hard pill to
swallow, and it can sometimes leave a bitter aftertaste. But just as
the most torturous elixir can cure what ails you, a dose of reality
can be the best medicine for someone who wants to get in touch with
life and experience first hand its many lumps and bruises.
On his sophomore release, "TRAP MUZIK" - his first for Atlantic
Records - T.I. fills the prescription for reality music: uncovering
life stories from the trap, depicting the unrefined essence of
street life and, more specifically, unveiling the grim realities of
the drug game. "It's called trap music," T.I. explains. "So you know
it's gonna be dealing with all aspects of the trap. And if you don't
know what the trap is, that's basically where drugs are sold. In
this country, the majority of us live in a neighborhood where drugs
are sold, whether we like it or not. Whether you in the trap selling
dope, whether you in the trap buying dope, whether you in the trap
trying to get out - whatever the case may be, I'm trying to deal
with all aspects of that lifestyle."

Don't let the name fool
you. Cash Money Records' latest superstar Juvenile, is a hot rapper
with more than ten years experience of ripping shows, dropping
cold-as-ice lyrics and laying it down for "Uptown" New Orleans.
"Juvenile is a name I got when I was young and thugging," explains
23-year-old Terius Gray.Juvenile hails from the infamous New Orleans
Uptown region and was reared in the Magnolia projects. Like some
other housing projects, the Magnolia projects have a serious
reputation for being rowdy and wild. It's a place where few children
survive unscathed by the horrendous poverty that grips many of the
residents there. But not Juve. Like the elders of old, he kept his
eyes on the prize - his dream of being a rap star. "I had my
struggles," says a solemn Juvenile when asked about life in the
"wild" Magnolia. "My pops went AWOL on me when I was four, so I had
my struggles and I had peer pressure, but I didn't let things get to
me. I always stayed focused on what I was trying to do."

Whoever coined the
phrase "you can't keep a good man down," obviously had Bay Area rap
pioneer Too $hort in mind. He has overcome tremendous obstacles in
his quest to be the best player/rapper in a game he largely
invented.
For the past ten years, Todd Shaw (AKA Too $hort), the man who was
quite literally "born to mack," has been rap's original pimp
lyricist of the year -- selling his unique blend of laid-back folk
poetry to millions of die-hard fans around the globe. Beginning with
his classic underground "Born To Mack" on through LPs like "$hort
Dog's In The House", "Get In Where You Fit In", Too $hort has
released an unprecedented ten straight LPs (seven on Jive Records).
In a world where the average rapper is lucky to see three records
hit the shelf, Too $hort has seen each of his Jive releases either
go gold or platinum with little or no major support from major media
outlets. Back in the day, the average fan learned about the new Too
$hort record strictly by word of mouth traveling from street to
street, hood to hood.

Legit (a.k.a The Savage),
comin' straight out the Hillside with that Northern Cali Mobb sound,
has been in the game for over 10 years. Before his rapping days
B-Legit was a hustler on the streets of Vallejo (a.k.a Valley Jo,
V-Town). He grew up in a single parent house surrounded by musical
influences but still ran the streets. He was always tight with his
kin folk and close friends which has continued even to today.
B-Legit can always be caught loungin with his cousins E-40 (a.k.a.
40 water, Fonzarelli, Mr. Flamboyant), D-Shot (a.k.a. The Boss
Baller), and Suga-T. He also is tight with fellow record mates on
Sick Wid It, including Celly Cel, The Mossie, The Funk Mobb Playas
Tryn' Strive, and Levitti. C-Bo, from the Garden Blocc Crips, is
also a close patna and he appears twice on B-Legit's album The Hemp
Museum.
B-Legit and his cousins started in this rap game back in 1986. The
four of them perforemed at a talent show under the group name Most
Valuable Players. After receiving encouraging response they decided
to continue with this rap and take it to another level. They changed
their name to The Click and recorded the Less Side in 1990

They said it couldn't be
done, but KURUPT is proving he's second to none. Once again, this
self-proclaimed Raw Dog Assassin has put down some of his best and
hardest hitting rhymes on wax. Tha Streetz Iz A Mutha, released by
ANTRA Music Group and Artemis Records, takes no prisoners.
The project reunites Kurupt with some the West Coast's biggest
players- Daz Dillinger, Dr. Dre, Nate Dogg. Soopafly and Xzibit. KRS-One
along with producers Battlecat and Organized Noize are also in the
mix. And while some of hip hop's most revered appear on Streetz,
Kurupt is totally in charge as the CD's opening track, "I Call The
Shots," declares. Out first from the 18-track, power-packed album is
"Girls All Pause" on which Nate Dogg does his musical magic and "Trylogy,"
full in effect with its classic gothic vibe.
